PERMISSION REQUIRED FOR CONSTRUCTION ALONG NH-40

Shillong, May 5, 2004: The Deputy Commissioner, Ri Bhoi District, Nongpoh has informed that all new constructions along the NH-40 including petrol pumps should invariably obtain permission from him after due clearance from PWD(NH). Parties and individuals failing to comply with are liable for drastic actions as per law.

ELECTION BILLS

Shillong, May 5, 2004: The Deputy Commissioner, Ri Bhoi District, Nongpoh has asked all vehicles owners, whose vehicles were requisited by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, for conduct of the General Election 2004, to submit their Requisition Bills to his Office on or before May 24, 2004 for clearance of the same within June 22-24 between 11:00 AM and 2:00PM.

All Government employees engaged in Election duty are also requested to submit their TA/DA bills to the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Ri Bhoi District on or before May 15, 2004 so that the same can be cleared within June 14-16, 2004. Late submission of TA/DA bills will not be entertained.

11th DISTRICT LEVEL INDUSTRIAL EXHIBITION HELD

Shillong, May 5, 2004: The two day 11th District Level Industrial Exhibition organised by the District Industrial Centre (DIC), Nongpoh was inaugurated today by Mr T K Chakraborty, Deputy Director, Industrial Department, Meghalaya at the premises of the DIC, Nongpoh. Around 25 local entrepreneurs from the District, including Government Departments participated in the exhibition.

In his inaugural speech, Mr Charkaborty said that such a programme highlights the activities of the Department and at the same time creates awareness among the people to take note of different industrial activities taking place in and around the District. Stating that Ri Bhoi is a commercial District in Meghalaya wherein the Department has sufficient package schemes, he appealed to the people to approach the Department for information and assured them of rendering necessary help. He also urged upon the public, particularly the participants of the exhibition to take advantage of the opportunity and interact with manufacturers so as to enhance their knowledge and skill level.
