Press Release No171/04 ARMY RECRUITMENT RALLY Shillong, March 9, 2004: An Army recruitment rally for male youths hailing from Meghalaya, for recruitment in Soldier (General Duty), Tradesmen, Soldier Technical, Clerk, Storekeeper Technical and Nursing Assistants, will be held at Tura, West Garo Hills District, from May 23-30, 2004. For Soldier General Duty, candidates must be between 16-21 years as on July 31, 2004 and should pass Class V above. For Soldier Technical, Clerks/Storekeeper Technical and Nursing Assistants, candidates must be between 16-23 years and should pass Class 10+2. For Soldier Tradesmen, candidates must be between 16-23 years and should pass Class IX. Interested candidates can obtain the details from the Office of their respective Deputy Commissioners. |

Press Release No176/04 NOTIFICATION Shillong, March 9, 2004: The Deputy Commissioner, Ri Bhoi District, Nongpoh, has notified that the written test for the post of Hindi Teacher under the District Selection Committee (DSC) will be held on March 20, 2004. Therefore, candidates applying for the post are required to furnish a Treasury Receipt/IPO for examination fees of Rs. 15.00/- (Rs. 8/- in case of SC/ST candidates) deposited under Head of Account "0051 Public Service Commission (a) Examination fees (b) Receipt of other Department" and two recent Passport size photograph duly certified by a Gazetted Officer and should reach the Secretary District Selection Committee, Nongpoh on or before March 16, 2004. Admit Cards will be issued to the candidates from March 17-19, 2004 from the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Ri Bhoi District, Nongpoh, during office hours. |

Press Release No177/04 WORKSHOP ON ‘CITIZEN CENTRIC SERVICES’ ORGANISED Shillong, March 9, 2004: A two day workshop on Citizen Centric Services organized by the Information Technology Department, Government of Meghalaya in collaboration National Informatics Centre, Shillong was formally inaugurated on March 9, 2004 by the Meghalaya Chief Secretary, Mr P J Bazeley at NIC Building Shillong. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Bazeley stressed that utilisation of Information Technology potential in the State should be explored fully and exploited optimally so that the various services and information provided by the Government for the benefit of the common people could be improved by the Government for the benefit of the common people be improved and address promptly, adding that the making of Information and Communication technology a Citizen centric and meaning full service to the people is a must. Pointing out that Information & Communication Technology can also be used as an open tool of communication by the people to access instantly the various information and services offered by the Government, Mr Bazeley opined that with the adoption of Information and Communication Technology, a possibility of having the relevant information needed can be accessed by the touch of a button. The Principal Secretary, IT Department, Government of Meghalaya who also spoke on the occasion expressed strong desire for the State to go ahead in the implementation of e-governance, stating that Information Technology has a major role to play in the development of the State. Others who spoke on the occasion includes Mr Shreeranjan, IAS, Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Mr. Subodh Shukla, Senior Technical Director, NIC, Headquarter New Delhi, and the vote of thanks was offered by Mr W S Synrem, OSD, IT Department. |
