Shillong, March 3, 2004: The Regional Transport Board in a meeting held on January last, has decided to phase out old vehicles being used as Local Taxis and upgrading the model plying of Local Taxis from 95 model onwards. This was informed by the Secretary, Regional Transport Authority, Shillong.

Shillong, March 3, 2004: In the interest of free and fair elections, and to maintain the fidelity of Electoral Rolls, the Election Commission of India has issued an order temporarily suspending of any demolition, eviction drives by Government/Civil Agencies between now and the completion of the General Elections.
