Shillong, July 28, 2004: In a government notification issued recently, the Meghalaya Chief Secretary has informed that Mr. K. K. Dkhar, MLA has been appointed as the Co-Chairman of the State Development Reforms Commissions, Meghalaya with immediate effect from the date of assumption of charge and until further orders.

Shillong, July 28, 2004: The Director of Sainik Welfare Meghalaya has informed that the all pensioners of the Assam Regiment, retired before April 1, 1996, whose pension has not been revised after the implementation of the Vth Pay Commission Report, are requested to contact Records the Assam Regiment, Happy Valley Shillong -7, for revision of the same.

Furthermore, he also informed that the existing AGI Medical Benefit Scheme will be functional only upto March 31, 2006 and that a new scheme named Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) has been introduced for all pensioners of the Army, effective from April 1, 2003. All pensioners retired prior to April 1, 2003 are requested to contact their nearest Station Headquarters in case they have not yet joined the new scheme and those retired after April 1, 2003 are requested to approach Records the Assam Regiment, Happy Valley Shillong -7 for detailed information.
