Shillong, January 2, 2004: The Office of the Deputy Commissioner (Election), East Khasi Hills District, has notified that the Draft Electoral Roll for the 5-Sohryngkham Constituency, 6-Dienglieng Constituency, 7-Nongkrem Constituency, 8-Lyngkyrdem Constituency, 9-Nongshken Constituency, 11-Mawsynram Constituency, 13-Laitkhroh Constituency, 14-Mylliem Constituency, 15-Laban Constituency, 16-Nongthymmai Constituency, 17-Laitumkhrah Constituency, 18-Mawkhar Constituency, 19-Jaiaw Constituency, 20-Mawlai Constituency, 21-Nongspung Constituency and 22-Mawphlang Constituency have been prepared with reference to 1^st January 2003 as qualifying date and in accordance with Rule 129 (A) of Assam and Meghalaya Autonomous Districts (Constitution of District Councils Rules, 1951).

A copy of the said rolls together with the said list of amendments has been published and will be available for inspection at the Office of the Electoral Registration Officer concerned.

Shillong, January 2, 2004: The District Medical and Health Officer, Ri Bhoi District, Nongpoh, informed that the Government of India will be launching another National Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization campaign for the Oral Polio Vaccine to be organised on January 5, 2004 and February 23, 2004 with the goal of eradication of poliomyelitis and requested Social Organisations/ Headmen Social Workers and Parents to cooperate and bring their children below the age 5 years old to the nearest CHCs/ PHCs/ Schools/ AWW Centre etc. where OPV would be administered to protect them from the Poliomyelitis.
