Shillong, August 26, 2004: The District Administration of Ri Bhoi conducted a Mobile Court on August 23, 2004 along the Nongpoh, Umsning main road and detected 11 autorickshaws plying without permits. These autorickshaws have been seized and kept in the local thana. Those found plying without valid papers/documents have been fined on the spot.

It is also observed that there are many more private vehicles plying as commercial passenger vehicles, without permit or valid documents, in different areas of the District. Such vehicles are directed to submit applications for grant of permit to the District Transport Officer (DTO), Nongpoh.

Shillong, August 26, 2004: The Deputy Commissioner (Supply), East Khasi Hills District, Shillong has informed that levy sugar against August 2004 quota has been released and will be distributed through Fair Price Shops at the scale of 510 gms per head per month at the rate of Rs.13.50p per kg.

Any non-supply or overcharging of the rate by the suppliers may be brought to the notice of the Deputy Commissioner (Supply), East Khasi Hills District, Shillong along with full details.
