Shillong, August 25, 2004: The Department of Tourism, participated in the recently concluded Travel and Tourism Fair 2004, organised by Fair Fest Media, held from 19^th-22^nd August 2004 at Kolkata. This was informed by the Director of Tourism, Mr. H. M. Shangpliang.

Meghalaya Tourism State was awarded 1st Prize for being the “Most Innovative and Captivating Stall”. It was also informed that the tour operators and travel agents have also responded overwhelmingly to the appeal of the Meghalaya Minister of Tourism towards a joint effort for mutual benefits.
