Press Release No. 491/04. MEETING ON TOTAL SANITATION PROGRAMME HELD. Shillong, August 2, 2004: The Deputy Commissioner, Ri Bhoi District, Nongpoh, who is also the chairman of the Total Sanitation Campaign today convened a meeting at Science Hall, Nongpoh, with the district BDO’s, Gram Sevaks, Gram Sevikas of the three blocks, officials from PHE, Education, Social Welfare to revive the overall progress of the Total Sanitation Programme in the district. Speaking at the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner said that the Gram Sevaks and Gram Sevikas are the key persons of the programme regarding the collections of data and information, he therefore urged upon them to render their service in the best possible manner with sincerity and responsibility for the best implementation of the same as well as other programmes likes, Literacy Campaign, SSA, Disaster Management Campaign, Post Literacy Campaign etc. |

Press Release No. 491/04. LOK ADALAT HELD AT NONGPOH Shillong, August 2, 2004: The District Administration in collaboration with the Meghalaya State Legal Service Authority (MSLSA), Shillong organised the Lok Adalat at the St. Paul’s School, Nongpoh on July 31, 2004. All together 41 cases were settled on the day. The Deputy Speaker of Meghalaya, Mr. P. W. Muktieh graced the inaugural function as the Chief Guest, while the Deputy Commissioner, Ri Bhoi District, Mr, W.L . Lyngdoh chaired the function. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Muktieh lauded the organisers for having successfully conducted the programme. Expressing satisfaction over the fact that 124 cases were referred to the Lok Sabha, he hoped that with this sincere effort, more cases will be brought up for settlement in the future. Others who spoke on the occasion included, Mr. W. H. D. Syngkon, Additional Advocate General, Meghalaya, Mr. B.E. Wahlang, Advocate, Mrs. M.N.Nampui, ADM and Mr. A. M Sangma, EAC. |
