DIGNITARIES TO TAKE SALUTE AT INDEPENDENCE DAY

Shillong, August 12, 2004: In connection with the Independence Day Celebration, on August 15, 2004, the following dignitaries will take the salute at the ceremonial parade in different District, Sub-Divisional Headquarters and Administrative Units of Meghalaya.

In Shillong, the salute will be taken by the Meghalaya Chief Minister, Dr. D D Lapang, at Nongstoin by the Meghalaya Speaker, Mr. M M Danggo, at Jowai by the Tourism Minister, Mrs. D. C. Marak, at Nongpoh by the Deputy Speaker, Mr. P. W. Muktieh, at Tura by the Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Donkupar Roy, at Williamnagar by the Minister for Labour, Mr. S Nongrum and at Baghmara by Minister for Soil Conservation, Mr Cyprian Sangma.

In the Sub-Divisional Headquarters, Minister for Urban Affairs, Mr. Friday Lyngdoh will take the salute at Mairang, Parliamentary Secretary, R. L. Tariang at Mawkyrwat, Minister for Food and Civil Supply, Mr M. N. Mukhim at Sohra, Minister of State, Mr. Nehlang Lyngdoh at Khliehriat, Co-Chairman, State Planning Broad, Mr. P. T. Sawkmie, at Amlarem, Minister for Forest, Dr. Mukul Sangma at Resubelpara, Parliamentary Secretary, Mr. Sengran R Marak at Ampati, and Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Billykid Sangma at Dadengiri

In the Administrative Units, the salute at Mawshynrut will be taken by Parliamentary Secretary, Mr. B. L. Nongum and at Patharkhmah, by EAC in-charge, Mrs. A.L. Mawlong.

CONVEYANCE ARRANGEMENT FOR I-DAY AT RI BHOI

Shillong, August 12, 2004: The Deputy Commissioner, Ri Bhoi District, Mr. W. L. Lyngdoh has informed that buses has been arranged to transport the general public of the District, to the venue of the Independence Day on August 15, 2004.

Buses stationed at Umiam, Kharpati, Marngar, Byrnihat, Umsning, Sumer, Shangbangla, Jyntru, Mawtnum and Pahamrioh, will leave the designated post at 7:30 AM.

CONVEYANCE ARRANGEMENT FOR I-DAY AT SHILLONG

Shillong, August 12, 2004: For the convenience of the general public on the occasion of Independence Day celebration, the Additional Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District has informed the route of buses, which will be plying in and around Shillong on August 15, 2004.

Starting at 8:00 AM, the buses will move from their respective starting point to the Jawaharlal Nehru Sports Complex, Polo. The bus stationed at Mawblei will move to the venue via Madanriting-Happy Valley-Nongthymmai-Dhankheti etc; the buses at Rynjah will move via Nongrim Hills-Laitumkhrah-Dhankheti etc and via Nongshilliang-Jellyshop-Dhankheti etc respectively; the bus at Fire Brigade will move via Laitumkhrah-Dhankheti etc; the bus stationed at Laban Red Cross will move via Bishnupur-Madan Laban-Kench’s Trace etc; the bus at Kyrbom , Mawprem will move via District Council- Mahavira Park etc; the bus at Mawlai Petrol Pump will move via Mawlai area, Mawroh, Golf Link and the bus at Jaiaw (KJP Hospital) will move via Mawkhar-Motphran etc.
